Why did you choose Homestay to stay in Japan?

To improve my japanese faster and see how everyday life is for Japanese people.

What was/were convenient in Japan? What kind of thing were you interested in?

People are nice, polite, and do their job as well as they can, especially if helping you is part of it. Everything seems to be going as it should, contrary to France where people rarely bother helping each other and go to work only to wait until the end of the day, so the quality of most services is pretty poor compared to Japan. Plus, Japan is a very safe country (you rarely have your things stolen etc.)

How did you spend your spare time in Japan?

Visiting a lot of different places in Tokyo, hanging out with friends from the school.

Tell us the most surprising thing while you were in Japan.

The conductor of a train informed us at 7:06 that his train was the 7:07 train, so he needed to wait for one minute, and apologized for the inconvenience. Then he thanked us for waiting.

How did you communicate with Japanese when you couldn’t explain it in Japanese?

I tried again with other words, gave examples, described situations, and used my dictionary until I got myself understood. I had to use English a few times, but I tried not to use it as much as I could.

Was your Japanese ability improved during homestay?

Greatly, but it is also because of my lessons. I think it helped a lot, though.

What Japanese foods do you like?

Everything was good. I don't remember the names of what I ate anyway.

What Japanese foods do you prefer not to eat ?

Everything was fine.

Please tell us some memorable thing or episode during your homestay.

I went to a matsuri with the yukata I bought two years ago on. It felt pretty weird at the beginning, since I usually only use it as a dressing gown.

Please tell us the thing that you got from homestay.

I saw what Japanese everyday life is like, and I improved my japanese, just like I wanted.

Please write a messages to the people who are coming to Japan from now on.

If you're planning to stay in Japan for a few weeks, homestay is a very good way to learn more
about Japanese culture and improve faster in japanese language.
